Shared Practice Base for Crafts and Industries in Sanxia
HAKSIP Village is a craft and industrial practice base in Sanxia operated by CAN Culture, Art & Nature. Its core spirit is “collective learning”. The name “HAKSIP” was inspired by the Taiwanese pronunciation of “learning”. Community resources are connected through HAKSIP Village for craft experts, quality food shops, community schools and enterprises to work with each other in building a community support system, developing community industries, and cultivating distinctive competence of teenagers.

Leather Crafting DIY -The Best Culture Experience In Taipei
The dream world of DIY of the old gentleman of the Village after retirement.
Brother Chiou has lived in Sanxia for several decades. He was a senior gardener who developed an interest for leather creation through self-taught learning after retirement. Thus, he decided to become a worker at the workshop to enjoy his passion for creation. He also shares such interest with inhabitants and travelers through experience exchange.
Wood Carving DIY -The Best Culture Experience In Taipei
Come to YIMU Carving Workshop to experience Sanxia’s traditional wood art spirit.
Master Xi-Chen learned his skills from master Yao-Hui Hong, one of the woodcarvers who worked on Zushi Temple. He established YIMU Carving Workshop in Haksip Village to engage in the development of wood carving craft in Taiwan and to teach traditional wood carving to the youths in the community. Through the passing down of the master’s skills, redesign and new vision, give traditional wood craft new life and continue the craft culture of Sanxia.
Old Hospital, New Life
Dr. Chong-Ming Chen returned to his hometown from National Taiwan University Hospital in 1947 and established the first surgical hospital in Sanxia, Ailin Hospital, which saved numerous inhabitants of Sanxia. In 2017, CAN Culture, Art & Nature and local people designed and renovated the old hospital to reproduce its memories and distinctive historical atmosphere.
